DEATH FOR SERIAL KILLER CREEPY ANTHONY SOWELL

"CREEPY"
SERIAL killer creepy Anthony Sowell should be sentenced to death for the vicious rapes and murders of 11 women, a jury has decided.
The twisted former marine lured his victims to his Cleveland OH, apartment promising booze and crack cocaine, but after smoking the drug himself, he turned, violently raping and beating them before strangling them to death.
Then he buried them in his garden, but he soon ran out of room, so instead of disposing of them elsewhere, he just kept the body parts in his condo, wrapped in plastic sheets or dumped in garbage bags.
The 52-year-old didn't testify during his trial and barely offered any explanation when quizzed by cops, other than he told them he got angry if his victims told him they had children.
He said: “One thing that always made me mad was they had kids. That’s a big thing in my head.”
Jurors deliberated a total of seven hours before reaching a decision, although the final sentence will be up to Judge Dick Ambrose, who can reduce a death penalty sentence to life without chance of parole.
That will be done at a later date.
Sowell was convicted of 82 counts, including aggravated murder, rape, attempted murder and kidnapping, for the 11 murders and attacks on three women who survived.

SERIAL KILLER CREEPY ANTHONY SOWELL: 'I'M SORRY'

CREEPY TONY
TALK about too little, too late.
In a last desperate bid to avoid the death penalty, convicted serial killer, creepy Anthony Sowell told the court: "I'm sorry."
The 51-year-old was found guilty of luring 11 women to his Cleveland, OH apartment often with the promise of booze or crack cocaine.
But after smoking the drug he turned, repeatedly raping them and beating them to death.
When he ran out of the room to bury the body's in his back garden, he kept them lying around his apartment, causing an almighty stink in the neighborhood.
After refusing to testify during the case itself, Sowell has finally decided to speak in a bid to save himself from the death penalty.
In his first public comments since his arrest over two years ago, he told the court, which was packed with relatives of the victims: "I'm sorry."
And then with possibly the understatement of the year: "I know that might not sound like a lot."
The prosecution wasn't allowed to cross-examine Sowell, which left the question unanswered as to why he killed the victims and attacked three other women who survived and testified against him.
But guided by his defense attorney John Parker, he answered questions about his troubled childhood, WOIO reports.
He told the court his mother abused him as a child, beating him with an extension cord, adding that he had ended up joining the Marines because he heard they were tougher than the Army, and he had something to prove to his mother.
Sowell also described mood swings and hearing a voice, one he calls Arnie.
He completed his statement with his apology.

DEATH FOR 'GRIM SLEEPER' SUSPECT LONNIE FRANKLIN JR

GRIM SLEEPER?
THE 'GRIM SLEEPER' serial killer suspect will face the death penalty if he is convicted of the murders, prosecutor's have revealed.
Lonnie Franklin Jr has pleaded not guilty to killing 10 women, all of whom were found in alleyways within a few miles of his home in downtown LA.
All the victims, some of whom were prostitutes, were shot, strangled or both, usually after some sort of sexual contact.
The killer was dubbed 'the grim sleeper' because of the long gaps between the deaths, which began in the 1980s and ended in this century.
Franklin, a mechanic, was arrested in July 2010 and indicted and now cops are investigating him in connection with other murders.
Prosecutors were granted the right to take a voice sample from Franklin and outside court they said they want to compare it to the voice heard on two 911 calls.
Although he agreed with prosecutor's seeking the death penalty if Franklin is convicted , speaking to a group of the victim's family Detective Dennis Kilcoynesaid the death penalty is "almost a non-issue" in California because it takes so long for convicts to be executed.
He added: "In 20 to 25 years, when it comes up, many of us won't be on this planet anymore."

SERIAL KILLER JEFFREY DAHMER'S LAST VICTIM - A MURDERER?

KILLER?
DAHMER
NOTORIOUS Serial Killer Jeffrey Dahmer's last intended victim who helped to bring his decade long spree of sexual assault and cannibalism to end has now been arrested for murder himself.
Almost 20-years ago Tracy Edwards, now 52, was found naked and partially handcuffed in the street outside the the lunatic's home.
He told cops that wielding a large butcher's knife, Dahmer who was eventually convicted of the murder, mutilation and cannibalisation of 16 young men and boys, had forced him into his bedroom wielding a large butcher's knife.
Then as he tried to cuff his wrists, Edwards fought back, punching and kicking his attacker and running out into the street.
When cops found him he told them about a horrible smell coming from a blue barrel, which led to the gruesome discovery of body parts in his refrigerator and other human remains around his apartment.
Almost two decades on however, Edwards is himself facing a possible homicide charged after a fight that led to Johnny Jordan falling into the Milwaukee River in Wisconsin and dying.
They had got into an argument with two other men on a bridge.
Friends said Edwards, who never received counselling after his confrontation with Dahmer, had found relief in drugs and alcohol.

Dr Emily John, who worked with Edwards at a homeless project, told WISN: "I don't think a lot of people want to go to therapy to deal with pain.
"They'd rather self-medicate, and that's what Tracy does, and it leaves him in the street over and over again.
"I am hoping in an odd way that this is a good thing for Tracy. Maybe the judge will recognize that he needs some help."

SERIAL KILLER ANTHONY SOWELL GUILTY OF 11 MURDERS

DEATH
CREEPY Anthony Sowell is the serial killer we all knew he was, a jury ruled yesterday.
The twisted former marine lured 11 women to his grotty apartment in his drug ridden Cleveland neighborhood with the promise of booze or crack cocaine.
Then he stuck, brutally beating them or throttling them to death, in a vicious crack cocaine fueled rage.
Calling no witnesses, he barely offered any explanation for his brutality, other than the nightmares brought on by the deadly drug -all of which involved him hurting women.
When he woke up they were gone.
He will now face the death penalty for the slayings after being convicted of multiple counts of aggravated murder and a number of other offenses.
Interviewed by cops he told them: "Reminded me of my girl, that’s the best I can tell you. It was like everything’s cool, she was spending the night or something."
But when he woke up he thought: "'Damn, where’d you go?’”
He also told detectives Sowell when if the women told him they had children at home while they were smoking crack.
He said: “One thing that always made me mad was they had kids. That’s a big thing in my head.”
Prosecutors say Sowell began running out of room in his backyard after he buried the bodies of four women there.
That’s when he began leaving them to rot on the third floor of his home.
"I'm glad justice has been done," said Audrey Webb, sister of victim Janice Webb told the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"I'm glad it's over and he is getting what he deserves."

COPS ASK: HAS LEIBY KLETSKY'S KILLER STUCK BEFORE?

SERIAL KILLER?
TRAGIC
COPS probing the twisted killer of little Leiby Kletzky fear he may have struck before and have begun a detailed investigation into whether he is a first time killer. Examining loser loner, Levi Aron's Brooklyn home, which he shared with his dad and uncle, officers found bags marked "kids pants" and a blue child's spoon and a pink cup."
A source told the NY Post: "There were two boxes in a closet, and they appear to have been there for a while.
"If there's any reason to think that he's done this before, we will come down on him hard. We're
determined, to justice done."
As cops continued their sweep, Leiby's grief-stricken parents, Itta and Nachman, announced that the family have launched a memorial website for the youngster in the hope of raising $1 milllion for children and families in need.
Itta said: "The traditional seven intense days of mourning [shiva] for our beloved Leiby are complete, but the ache in our hearts will remain forever.
"We pray that none of you should ever have to live through what we did."
She added: "We are certain that Leiby is now looking down from heaven and blessing us all."
Aron is charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping and other counts.

CREEPY ANTHONY SOWELL KEPT HEADLESS BODY: VICTIM

CREEPY TONY
CREEPY Anthony Sowell kept the bloody decapitated corpse of one of his victims in his apartment, a court heard yesterday.
Vanessa Gay told the court that the accused serial killer dubbed "creepy Tony" had invited her round to his apartment to "celebrate his birthday" by drinking and smoking crack cocaine.
But almost immediately after she walked in she got a bad feeling.
She said: "If you've ever seen Silence of the Lambs the eeriness, it was that atmosphere, but it was too late to turn back. It was just dark and gloomy, you could feel the gloom."
But almost as soon as he took a hit from the crack pipe, Sowell turned into a monster, forcing himself on her and raping her repeatedly throughout the night.
She explained: "He told me nobody would hear me, nobody would hear me scream, nobody would hear me scream."
At one point, Gay who confessed to using drugs with Sowell, but said she had been clean for some time, told the court that she was walking down the hall when she passed a room that had plastic hanging from the ceiling to the floor.
She said: "The plastic was pulled up. And I saw something on the floor. It looked like it was a body. And it had no head on it."
Struggling to speak she added that the body was: "propped up sitting on the floor and it was taped up.
"I kept thinking to myself, I couldn't have seen what I saw," she said. "This is not possible, this is not real."
The next morning Sowell said if she called the police he'd kill her, but she rang them anyway and was told she needed to go to the police station to file a report. She says she was too injured to go.
She eventually reported what happened to her in 2009 after the bodies were found in the house.
Gay says she dreaded testifying but had to for the victims who did not survive.
She told FOX8: "I'm their voice," she said.
"Life is beautiful. I never want to take it for granted again, because it's a blessing."

CREEPY ANTHONY SOWELL: 'I GOT RID OF THEM'

CREEPY TONY
CREEPY Anthony Sowell's admitted to butchering 11 women in two years, telling his girlfriend "I got rid of them," a court heard yesterday. Lori Frazier, who is the niece of Cleveland's mayor Frank Jackson, claimed she didn't believe the accused killer, dubbed 'creepy Tony' by neighborhood kids, despite the foul stench coming from his apartment and often seeing him covered in blood.
The former marine who allegedly lured his victims to his apartment with the promise of drugs before killing them.
Frazier, 31, who admitted to using drugs with the so called psychopath, added that once saw Sowell digging in his backyard, before testifying that she knew Crystal Dozier, one of the women found dead in his home.

Another time, she saw she saw blood on his carpet.
After her testimony, she told the First Post: "He came out from the penitentiary on June 23. Me and him hooked up on July 7, and I have been with him ever since.
"I want to know why, why would he do this. He took care of me."
But she also admitted that Sowell started acting "real nasty" after he started smoking crack and used to hit her.
Mayor Jackson, who denied having met the alleged serial killer told WOIO: "My niece would probably fit the same profile of many victims, so she is fortunate, very fortunate."

JURORS VISIT ANTHONY SOWELL'S HOUSE OF HORROR

CREEPY TONY
CREEPY Anthony Sowell's house, where he is accused of killing 11 woman and hiding their remains was visited by jurors before opening statements in the potentially explosive case. The alleged serial killer is thought to have lured his victims many who had a history of drug abuse  with the promise of booze or narcotics into his Cleveland, OH home.
Then, prosecutor's assert that when they were wasted, he struck, strangling or beating them to death.
So far 11 bodies have been identified at his duplex.
The women disappeared one by one, starting in October 2007 and ending in September 2009. It was thought that showing the jurors the Cleveland, OH home where it's believed the killings took place, would help them gain some perspective for the upcoming testimony.
But Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Dick Ambrose was keen to point out that what jurors see
"is not evidence, since conditions may have changed since the time of the events in this case."
It took nearly three weeks to seat the jury from a pool of about 200 prospective jurors and now the trial is expected to start today.
Sowell, a former marine, faces the death penalty if convicted of  eighty-five counts of murder, rape and kidnapping.
He originally pled not guilty by reason of insanity but has since changed his plea to simply "not guilty."

SERIAL KILLER ANTHONY SOWELL FACES JUSTICE TODAY

TODAY IS THE DAY. Anthony 'Creepy Tony' Sowell goes on trial for his life in a Cleveland courtroom. Remember Creepy Tony? He is accused of raping, murdering and then dismembering 11 Cleveland women in a bloody two-year stretch between 2007 and 2009. He has pleaded guilty by reason of insanity. Well, no shit.
The prosecution's goodies all lay in the killing ground that was Sowell's backyard. In October 2009, cops found the remains of five of 11 dead women. More women have also come forward alleging that Creepy Tony attacked them. Most of the victims were women who had fallen on hard times and drifted into prostitution. While much of the news regarding Sowell have focused on his sinister deeds, little has previously been known about the man. Born in Cleveland, he joined the Marines and saw the world. After his release
from prison after doing a 15-year joly for attempted rape, people who knew him said he "appeared to be a normal guy."

But then odd smells began coming from his rundown two-storey home in a rough area called Mount Pleasant. At fvirst, officials thought it was from a nearby sausage factory but, no, really it was rotting flesh from Creepy Tony's house
And there could be more: cold case cops in Cleveland are working their way through 75 unsolved slayings to see if there is any connection to Creepy Tony Sowell. Stay tuned here.

COPS HUNT FOR RAMONA PRICE; MURDERED IN 1961

IT’S A CASE that has been ice cold 50 years but a few lucky breaks could mean Santa Barbara cops can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. The search for Ramona Price began half-a-century ago with little progress up until now. Four teams of specially-trained sniffer dogs have identified what cops are calling an ‘area of interest’ near an overpass at U.S. 101 in Goleta.
The bridge, which is set to be torn down, makes this an ideal time to search, according to authorities. Cops now believe that the 7-year-old, who disappeared Sept. 2, 1961, was likely a victim of notorious child serial killer
Mack Ray Edwards.
Edwards, who hanged himself on death row at San Quentin in 1972, was convicted of killing three children – and confessed to the killings of three others (but due to a lack of evidence was never officially charged.) Edwards worked as a heavy equipment operator near the area that dogs have identified.
"When he was in San Quentin he told other inmates he had victims no one would ever find," said Santa Barbara Police Chief Cam Sanchez. "He said no one would ever tear up the freeways."
Sicko was wrong. Edwards claimed to have murdered as many as 20 but in an act of cowardice fitting a child killer, hung himself with a TV cord in his San Quentin cell. A Pasadena writer, Weston DeWalt,, discovered that Edwards worked on the bridge and immediately informed authorities.
That break came four years ago; cops hadn’t made the connection between Edwards and Prices’s disappearance.
Now, with the destruction of the bridge, cops are within touching distance of putting the seal on the case, and allowing Price’s 60-year-old sister, who doesn’t wish to be named, to finally mourn her sister.

VICTIMS WANT NO PART OF JOHN WAYNE GACY ART

YUCK. PUKE. A John Wayne Gacy original on your wall? What a great way to ruin your day. A Las Vegas (where else) art collector's nutty scheme of a planned charity sale of notorious serial killer Gacy's paintings has run into fire from the victim's group that was supposed to benefit. Now, the National Center for Victim's of Crime wants its name off the exhibit.
Arts Factory owner Westly Myles said he hoped to coordinate the show because he felt, and here it comes, that the paintings would "provoke discussion."

He said: "People can think what they like, I see it as an opportunity to help from something that was bad." Okay, well Myles we certainly have our thoughts, you provocative devil. Gacy--for anyone who doesn't know--was convicted of raping and killing 33 boys and young men during a six-year reign of terror. He was nabbed in 1978 and given the needle in 1994. After he was executed (hurray!) his lawyer sold the paintings
He was dubbed "the Killer Clown" because he often performed as "Pogo the Clown" at events for children. Creeped out? Yeah, us too.

DNA SHOCK! MORE "ORIGINAL NIGHTSTALKER" VICTIMS

30 YEARS LATER
INFAMOUS serial killer, the Original Night Stalker who murdered at least 10 people and sexually assaulted more than 50 has been linked to at least two more deaths using modern DNA technology.
Considered to be one the worst and most prolific unapprehended serial offenders in America the notorious murderer terrorized South California in the late 1970s with a string of shocking deaths.
Typically he would target middle class homes and stealthily sneaking in late at night.
Then he would wake his victims at gunpoint, tie them up killing the men with a bullet to the brain and the battering their corpses.
The women weren't so lucky, often subjected to horrific sexual
assaults over a long time before being bludgeoned to death.
When he was done, he would ransack the home and leave their rotting corpses.
Early in his spree he only targeted women and became known as the  East Area Rapist, but emboldened by the law's inability to catch him, he moved on to couples.
Now thanks to new DNA technology cops know that in the July of 1981, 35-year-old Cheri Domingo and 27-year- old Gregory Sanchez were murdered in Goleta by the elusive killer.
Less than two years earlier, in 1979, 44-year-old Doctor Robert Offerman and 35-year-old Alexandria Manning were also murdered just blocks away and it seems he returned to his hunting ground.
"There were bloodstains on the sidewalk leading to the bridge across the creek," Roger Millikan, who's lived nearby for 40 years, told KSBY.
He added that says the serial killer's m-o seemed to be murdering unmarried couples.
He said: "Some people were even talking about posting their marriage license in the window as a precaution. "
Investigators collected more than 50 pieces of evidence from the house, but the case ran cold until detectives re-examined it with a better DNA kit.
Investigators think the killer would now be in his 50s or 60s and have vowed not to stop until they catch him.
An investigator said: "With technology getting better and better, we're hoping it will be a matter of time. One thing's for sure, we will not give up. If it takes one year or 100, we will get him."
