GRIM TALLY: GREEN RIVER KILLER ADDS VICTIM 49

EVEN FROM prison, Gary Ridgway--the notorious Green River Killer--who murdered scores of women in the Seattle-Tacoma area 20 years ago continues to haunt. Now, he has been charged with a 49th murder--the victim, a young mom murdered nearly 30 years ago.
The new aggravated murder charge relates to the slaying of Becky Marrero. The 20-year-old's remains were found by teens last December. Ridgway confessed to the murders in 2003 to spare his life.
"The Marreros have the right to face the man who killed Becky and the opportunity to remind us all about what was taken from them," Prosecuting Attorney
Dan Satterberg said. "They finally have the answers, and with these charges and the anticipated guilty plea, they will have obtained the truth, accountability and ... a degree of justice."
Ridgway--a truck painter--was the most prolific serial killer in American history. He is serving 48 consecutive life sentences.
ACCORDING TO CNN: Marrero left her 3-year-old daughter with her aunt on December 3, 1982, headed toward Seattle's Sea-Tac airport, and was never seen alive again.
Cops would only say she "was in an area engaged in activities that made her vulnerable to crime, (and) particularly to Mr. Ridgway's method of operating."
