FORT HOOD MASSACRE: NIDAL MALIK HASAN IN COURT

NUT
THE CRAZY major who allegedly gunned down 13 soldiers and wounding 30 others in crazy shooting rampage has made his first court appearance.
Army Psychiatrist Major Nidal Malik Hasan is accused opened fire at the Fort Hood, TX base, firing indiscriminately at anyone who got in his way, until he was eventually taken down himself.
At the brief 15 minute arraignment, Hasan, who will face the death penalty if convicted, surprised onlookers by dropping  his lead attorney, a retired Army colonel, John Galligan, who had represented him since the 2009 attack on the U.S. army post.
He told The Associated Press just before the hearing that he decided to step down temporarily but stood ready to "resume an active role."
Hasan, charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder, said he wanted to be represented by three military attorneys.
He did not enter a plea during the 15-minute arraignment, and it's unclear when he will. According to military law, he cannot plead guilty because it is a death penalty case. Col. Gregory Gross, Fort Hood's chief circuit judge, set the military trial date for March, which the defense team had requested. Jurors will be brought in from Fort Sill, Oklahoma, according to documents filed in the case.

HUMBERTO LEAL GARCIA EXECUTED; YELLS 'VIVA MEXICO'

FINAL MEAL WAS TACOS
HUMBERTO Leal Garcia Jr. apologized for his crimes, shouted "Viva Mexico" and then was blasted into eternity with a deadly cocktail that came courtesy of Texas. The Mexican national had been convicted of raping then strangling and bludgeoning to death Adria Sauceda, a 16-year-old San Antonio girl in 1994.
He was executed Thursday night in Huntsville, Texas. His case came to the attention of President Obama because he was allegedly not allowed to contact the Mexican consulate. The Supreme Court denied a stay of execution.
Garcia's last meal was fried chicken, pico de gallo, tacos, two colas and a bowl of fried okra. Before being dispatched, he said: "I am sorry for everything I have done. I have hurt a lot of people. Let this be final and be done. I take the full blame for this."
Leal then shouted "Viva Mexico," followed by "I'm ready warden, let's get the show on the road."

PA. COP KILLER RICHARD POPLAWSKI GETS DEATH

eric-kelly-paul-sciullo-iii-stephen-mayhle
AMERICA will take vengeance against a Pittsburgh killer who murdered three cops in 2009. Richard Poplawski, 24, was sentenced to die Tuesday for the murders of officers Paul Sciullo II, 36, Stephen Mayhle, 29, and Eric Kelly, 41, on April 4, 2009.
The tragic murders were triggered when Poplawski and his mother started arguing about his puppies peeing on the floor. Things got so intense, she called 911. It took the jury just 90 minutes to render it's verdict.  During the penalty phrase, the killer's attorney trotted out the usual chestnuts: dysfunctional, unloving home life, yada, yada, yada.
Granddad was a racist who hate the government.. No male role model. But lawyer William Brennan made some solid points.

Poplawski's great aunt Joanne Duffy testified: "I've never seen her kiss him or put her arms around and show any kind of affection for him."
The prosecution wasn't biting. Most of his grandfather's vile deeds occurred before the killer was even born. DA Mark Tranquilli posed some fairly pointed questions himself.
He said: "I know another guy who didn't know a father in his life -- (murdered cop) Eric Kelly. How did he turn out?" He added that the doting father of three also helped raise a sister 22 years younger than himself as well as his oldest daughter's child, who he often watched during the day after working an overnight shift. MYSTERY DELAY IN CASEY ANTHONY MURDER TRIAL

SATURDAY'S Casey Anthony Show was over almost as soon as it began. Judge Belvin Perry said after meeting lawyers that the day's testimony would be scratched.
Legal analyst Linda Kenney Baden said: "Obviously it's big, and obviously it's troublesome and obviously it's something that can't be disclosed." Relations between the defence and prosecution have been less than collegial with the D throwing out some fairly wild theories. Meanwhile, the prosecution has been criticized for overtrying the case (smell expert, anyone?) Party Mom Casey Anthony, of course, as even
Buddhist monks in Nepal are aware of, is the glib Florida floozy charged with murdering her 2-yer-old daughter Caylee in 2008. Cops believe the cute child was knocked out with chloroform, her mouth and nose duct-taped and then her body dumped in the woods. What did mom do? Partied! Best body contests, faux lesbian lick-a-thons at Orlando nightclubs. Non-existent nannies and sugar daddies.
The defense says Caylee drowned, and Caey and her dad George tried to cover it up. Mom and dad seem to think she's guilty but should get the death penalty. Being the betting kind, our money is a needle to Neverland for old Casey. CNN HAS MORE

CASEY ANTHONY'S PARENTS: 'WE THINK SHE'S GUILTY'

WHEN YOU lost mom and dad, you now you're in big trouble. In a shocking interview with CNN, the lawyer for the parents of Party Mom Casey Anthony said they think she's guilty but DO NOT want to see the swinging floozie get the death penalty for the sickening crime that has riveted the world.
Mark Lippman said of George and Cindy Anthony: "But this is important and they wanted me to stress this. They love her, they support her and they do not want her to get the death penalty and they will do all they can to avoid her getting the death penalty in this case."
Ah, but they may not have a say. Anthony, 25, is now on trial in Florida for first-degree murder in the brutal 2008 slaying of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. If she is convicted, in all likelihood she will be frog marched to death row. Testimony is expected to continue today.

Her team continued calling witnesses yesterday on chemical testing etc., along with other scientific stuff that you can read about on CNN.
In their uphill battle to keep Anthony from receiving a ride on the needle (destination: Abyss) they have argued that Caylee drowned and that the Party Mom and her father panicked and hid body. According to George Anthony, that's just not so.

CASEY ANTHONY DEFENCE SAYS AUTOPSY WAS 'SHODDY'

AS ANOTHER week in the Casey Anthony murder trial wrapped up, her defence team are starting to try and rip holes in the prosecution's case. Read: they're trying to plant the seeds of reasonable doubt. We say, 'good luck dude!' Florida Party Mom Anthony, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the 2008 slaying of her toddler daughter Caylee. If convicted, she will likely get the needle. On Saturday, Dr. Werner Spitz said that the duct tape found on Caylee's skull was placed there AFTER decomposition. The prosecution has claimed that the little girl was suffocated by the placement of the duct tape over her nose and
mouth. Of course, after she disappeared, her mom seemed hell-bent on partying hard, banging every guy in sight and continuing with her moronic lifestyle in Orlando, Florida. Indeed, the past week has been chock-a-block with outlandish claims by the defence: dad did it, incest, yada, yada.

Spitz--a forensic pathologist--also slammed Orange County Medical examiner Dr. Jan Garavaglia for his "shoddy" autopsy. The judge slammed the defence for not informing the prosecution of their first witness of the day.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF SPITZ TESTIMONY:
* Claimed there was no examination inside Caylee's skull, "standard practice", he sniffed.
* The dried sediment indicated the body decomposed on the left. That differs from the crime scene.
* Lack of DNA on the duct tape indicated it was put there to keep the jawbone from falling off: meaning, someone moved the body.

TEXAS, ALABAMA EXECUTE KILLERS POWELL, TAYLOR

NO ONE is going to get out the hankies for these guys. Two states ratcheted up ultimate justice yesterday for a pair of ruthless killers. Alabama executed Eddie Duval Powell, left, for the rape, robbery and murder of a woman, aged 70. He apologized for "the pain he caused everyone." An earlier appeal was knocked down. He murdered Mattie Wesson in 1995. He said there should be no execution because he is mentally challenged. Didn't work.
In Texas, Lee Andrew Taylor, 32, right, was put to death for stabbing another inmate to death in 1999. He told his mother and wife he loved them and apologized for the murder of Donta Green. He always maintained he was acting in self-defence. Lest you have doubts... he was doing a life sentence for killing a man during a home invasion.

CHRIS CHEARY SAYS HE DIDN'T MURDER SOPHIA ACOSTA

THE MONSTER accused of murder in the May sex slaying of little Sophia Acosta entered a plea of not guilty yesterday. Cops say Chris Cheary, 20, murdered, assaulted and tortured Sophia in Tulare County, California. If convicted he faces the death penalty.
Sophia's uncle Nick Williams said: "I hope that he gets everything that's coming to him. It does give some closure. You know, it gives some satisfaction, but we want to see it through til the end."

Cheary was busted almost a month after Sophia was found barely alive. She later died and an autopsy showed she had suffered numerous injuries. Cheary--naturally--says she fell and hit her head. Her mother Erika is also being investigated.
He told CBS47: "I would never touch that little girl. I love her more than I love myself."

COPS MAKE ARREST IN SGT. KENNETH VANN MURDER

COPS in San Antonio, Texas have nabbed the thug they say murdered one of their own. On Sunday afternoon, Mark Anthony Gonzales, 41, was arrested at his home in connection with the murder of Sgt. Kenneth Vann. On May 28, Vann was murdered in cold blood as he sat at a traffic light. The triggerman came up beside him and blasted away. Vann didn't even have time to draw his weapon.
The 48-year-old veteran's slaying stunned San Antonio as it appeared to be for no good reason
and a whopping $127,000 in reward money was raised.

Cops had been looking for the driver of a 2009 or later model royal blue crew cab Ford F150. Gonzales was at home with his wife and children when he was arrested. Investigators said anonymous tipster closed the deal. A similar weapon used to kill Vann was found in  the home.
Hundreds turned out for the memorial service of the deceased deputy, who had been on the force for 25 years. Vann was buried Friday at the cemetery at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spring Branch.
Vann left behind three children and his wife, Yvonne, who is also a sergeant with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Yvonne said last night:  “I know he'll get the death penalty, because that's what it calls for, and he'll get the death penalty as much as my husband did.”

KILLER GAYLORD BRADFORD PUT TO DEATH IN TEXAS

SEVEN BUCKS. That's it. That's all. Killer Gaylord Bradford, 42, was executed in Texas Wednesday for the $7 murder of a grocery store security guard in 1988. In his final statement, he thanked supporters and said: "I am at peace. We have no worries, just as I have no more worries. To the victim's family, may you be at peace also."
Career criminal Bradford was on parole for robbery when he gunned down security guard Brian Williams four days after Christmas at a Dallas supermarket. It was Williams' second day on the job.
According to Fox News, Williams' mother and brother were in the death chamber watching the killer die but found forgiveness in their hearts:
His brother Gary said: "We have no anger towards Mr. Bradford and forgive him of his crime against our family. We now turn our thoughts and prayers to Mr. Bradford's family and friends and pray that God will give them the strength, comfort and understanding as they now grieve the loss of their loved one."
The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal. Prosecutors and cops were glad Bradford was executed, calling the videotape of Williams' murder "chilling."
Next to die in Texas is John Balentine on June 15 for the fatal shootings of three teenagers in Amarillo in 1998.

MOM SLAMMED CASEY ANTHONY AS 'UNFIT MOTHER'

CASEY ANTHONY is coming across as a real charmer. A real shit. On Tuesday, a pal of the party mom testified Anthony was bitter because her mom wasn't ready to drop everything and babysit. Amy Huizenga told a Florida court that her onetime friend had a strained relationship with her parents
Anthony is on trial for first-degree murder for the savage death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008.
She told the court: "It was hard. Her mom was continually agitated with her. I remember she told me her mom had told her she was an unfit
mother. She was extremely upset about that."
The party mom was also pissed that she had to cancel her plans "fairly frequently" because there was no one to babysit her little girl. As the spring of 2008 wore on, Anthony was becoming ever more bitter and by late June, Caylee was had disappeared from the scene.

Earlier in the day, jurors listened to a jailhouse phone call from Anthony where the party mom is spewing self-pity. She sobs, "no one is listening to me", I don't know anything ... IT WAS THE NANNY!
Anthony snarls to her friend Kristina Chester: ""I got arrested on a f---ing whim today because they're blaming me for stuff that I would never do, that I didn't do. They're twisting stuff. They've already said they're going to pin this on me if they don't find Caylee. They've already said that."
Chester tries calming her: "Casey, your daughter, your flesh and blood, your baby." Anthony snaps: "Put my brother back on the phone. I don't want to get into this with you. ... I haven't slept in four days."
Hello, death penalty...

CASEY ANTHONY'S SOBBING MOM: 'I SMELLED DEATH'

CASEY ANTHONY MURDER TRIAL WEEK 2: Part Mom Casey Anthony's own mother Cindy Anthony sobbed when she told a Florida court how horrified she was when she saw Caylee's favorite doll in the child's car seat. Thus began the dramatic second week of the Casey Anthony murder trial. The 25-year-old is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 2-year-old Caylee in June 2008 and other offences. Her remains were found in December of that year. If Casey is convicted she will likely face the death penalty.
Tuesday Cindy Anthony told the court  how her daughter stopped bringing the child around and alluded to a nanny, a rich suitor and a tractor trailer load of other half
truths.

Cindy Anthony said Tuesday she asked repeatedly to speak to Caylee on the phone: "I missed hearing her little voice." She added her daughter always had an excuse why she couldn't speak to the child.
"There was always a reason I missed her," Cindy Anthony said.

VINNIE GORGEOUS' OPTIONS: NEEDLE OR HELL ON EARTH

IN OTHER Italian-American news... forget the haircuts, fine-tailored suits and top-notch meals. For Bonanno crime boss Vincent "Vinnie Gorgeous" Basciano the options aren't great. The New York mobster was convicted of a litany of murder and racketeering charges. So, because they were federal crimes the metrosexual mafioso faces either the death penalty or a loving death: Super Max. Located in Colorado, it is America's most secure--and brutal--prison
Deep within its concrete walls, there is a place reserved for the most notorious inmates in the federal penal system - Cell Block H.
Former U.S. Bureau of Prisons warden Joe Gunja told the New York Daily News: "It's the most secure, most controlled, most confined unit in the prison.
It's designed for the worst of the worst inmates."
Basciano's lawyers will push for the prison instead of the needle for his role in ordering the hit on mob associate Randolph Pizzolo. Sources say it was the arch-criminals hit list--including a judge, a prosecutor and a bushel of mob canaries--that put hiom within sight of the needle. H-Unit's residents are largely terrorists like Ramzi Yousef.
According to the Daily News, Vinnie would be locked down 23 hours a day, shackled and escorted by at least three guards when he leaves the cell. He would have no physical contact with other inmates or visitors and severely limited communications with immediate family.
Great times coming Vinnie.

CASEY ANTHONY TO GAL PAL: 'I'M SUCH A GOOD LIAR'

PARTY MOM Casey Anthony brazenly told a gal pal: "Oh my God, I'm such a good liar." It was the latest shocking revelation at the hard-partying hosebag's Florida capital murder trial. Anthony, 25, is accused of murdering her toddler Caylee so she could live the life of riley. The prosecution spent the day painting a picture of a callous woman who didn't seem fussed her little girl was gone.
It was the third day of testimony in the explosive trial that has garnered worldwide attention.
Ricardo Morales dated Casey Anthony between
February and April of 2008. He claimed Casey and Caylee spent the night at his apartment in June 2008, just days
before the little girl disappeared. She was also having sex with boyfriend Tony Lazzaro at the same time.
The Florida floozy even picked up Morales from the airport as her mom made a 911 call screaming that Caylee was missing--and Casey's car smelled like a dead body.
Morales said: "She was the same as she always was…happy, smiling, asking us how our trip was, just normal Casey."

MICHAEL ERIC BALLARD GETS DEATH FOR PA. MASSACRE

MONSTER Michael Eric Ballard will get the needle for butchering four people in Northampton County, Pennsylvania last summer. So just, who is Prince Charming, now destined for the death chamber? Let us tell you.

In a fit of blood lust, Ballard stabbed to death his former girlfriend Denise Merhi, 39; her dad, Dennis Marsh, 62; her grandpa, Alvin Marsh Jr., 87; and Steven Zernhelt, 53, a neighbor who heard screams  and tried to help last June 26. DA John Morganelli wasn't sparing
describing the carnage: "slaughter," a "rampage" and a "massacre." The prosecution said if Ballard wasn't a primo candidate for the needle, then no one was. Ballard pleaded guilty last month. Oh, and when he committed them he had just been paroled on a 15-30 jolt for slitting the throat of an Allentown man in 1991 during a deadly botched heist. The jury gave Ballard the death penalty in a lickety split two hours. The defence had sought a life sentence because of the killer's "rough childhood" and "brain damage."
Merhi's mother Geraldine Dorwart said: "It's definitely justice. There couldn't have been any other verdict. This man took our lives away. He got death."

VINNIE GORGEOUS GUILTY; NOW FACES DEATH PENALTY

METROSEXUAL mobster Vincent 'Vinnie Gorgeous' Basciano has been found guilty of a gangland murder that could land him in the hands of the executioner. The diva-like desperado ordered the killing to smooth his rise to to the top of the Bonanno crime family. Already serving a lifetime jolt for attempted murder, Vinnie G was also convicted of racketeering, conspiracy and a trucklaod of other charges. The former beauty salon owner was torpedoed by for Bonanno boss turned canary Joseph Massino. The well-groomed thug was portrayed the feds as "a cold-blooded remorseless killer."
Basciano orchestrated the killing of mob wannabe Randolph Pizzolo. The murder was payback for a drunken tirade by Pizzolo who demanded to be "made" a member of the crime family.
On tape, Basciano rationalized the murder: "He's a dangerous kid that doesn't ... listen."
Vain Vinnie has become almost as well-known for his diva-like antics as his criminal exploits. Before the trial began he won the right to wear five different suits to trial--one for each day of the week. And he complained and complained about just about everything.
But his days of complaining may be at an end: on Monday the jury begins deliberating on whether Vinnie will get the needle. A bad hair day indeed.

VINNIE GORGEOUS GETTING GROOMED FOR DEATH
