GRANDMA FEARS MISSING TEEN HAILEY DUNN IS DEAD

IT HAS been 7 heartbreaking months and still, there is no sign of missing Texas teen Hailey Dunn. And now, her grandmother tells KCBD that she believes the cheerleader is likely dead--but says she's not giving up hope even as the possibility the little girl is found safe decreases.

Connie Jones said: “Imagine what hell is like—just imagine someone in your family missing and not knowing where she’s at."

Hailey was last seen on Dec. 27, 2010 at her mom's house by the mother's somewhat dodgy boyfriend, Shawn Adkins. He is considered the only suspect in the disappearance. He told cops she was going to spend the night at a friend's house: the pal had no knowledge and had not seen her. Now, a new effort is being made to find Hailey with a social media campaign. DRUNK DAD BILLY JOE MADDEN LETS BOY, 8, DRIVE CAR

TEACHING A boy to drive often falls to dad. It's just that usually they're closer to 16, not 8. Billy Joe Madden of Hattiesburg, Mississippi (where else) was hammered, according to cops, and so while he had a snooze he had his 8-year-old take over the driving while they traveled from Mississippi to Texas. He was doing the speed limit, Louisiana State Police said, adding he had to sit on the edge of his seat to reach the gas. His 4-year-old sister sat in the backseat. The child’s driving was apparently so erratic that it alarmed motorists, who called police.
His 28-year-old father--named Hattiesburg's best dad last year--was booked for child desertion and allowing a minor to drive. The vehicle was a green Chevy pick-up. Pretty dumb, huh?

CUSTODY FIGHT TOOK TOLL ON LAURA JEAN ACKERSON

A FORMER boyfriend of murdered North Carolina mom Laura Jean Ackerson said that in recent emails she described how bitter her custody fight was. Detectives found Ackerson's dismembered remains in Texas Wednesday. She had been reported missing July 18. Her former boyfriend and the father of her two boys, aged 3 and 2, Grant Ruffin Hayes, 32, and his wife Amanda Perry hayes, 39, have been charged with murder.
James Harrison--who dated the pretty brunette from 2005 to 2008--said
that in an email dated July 11, Laura Jean revealed the terrible toll the battle with Hayes was taking. Both parties claimed the other was an unfit parent.

Harrison said: "She was involved in a very long court battle. Clearly, the relationship had gone sour. The manner in which it happened and the level of gruesome detail that went into Laura's disappearance has just killed me."
Apparently, Laura Jean and Hayes relationship had been volatile but Harrison initially believed he had the sort of traits that his ex was looking for in a man. He was tragically wrong.

LAURA JEAN ACKERSON'S KILLERS USED A MACHETE

THE PORTRAIT of the man accused of murdering and dismembering pretty single mom Laura Jean Ackerson is at odds with the twisted act of bloodlust he's been fingered for. The torso of Laura Jean, 27, was discovered in a creek near Houston, Texas--far from her North Carolina home. Police have yet to confirm the remains are hers but law enforcement sources tell Crime Scene USA its Laura Jean.
Now, her former boyfriend and his wife have been charged with killing
the friendly brunette, the mother of his two children. Cops believe she was murdered July 13 and her remains taken across the country. Charged are Grant Hayes and his wife Amanda. Amanda Hayes' sister lives where the remains were found, along with a machete.
Laura Jean's friend Jo Jackson said the young mom was turning her life around and hoped to be a teacher. Jackson said: "Although they are very young, they still know that mommy's not there and it does impact them, tremendously. Laura is not in a creek somewhere, Laura is in heaven and I believe that."
Grant Hayes' friend Mark Gierth said the accused killer is a talented musician who was thinking about returning to the Virgin Islands where he once lived. “He said it looks like the only way he’d get joint custody is if he lived in North Carolina. He can’t make any money there doing what he’s doing, so he’s going to let Laurahave the kids and he was going to move back to St. Thomas."

UPDATE: LAURA Jean Ackerson's ex-husband his current wife have been charged with murdering and dismembering the the pretty mom of two. Grant Ruffin Hayes, 32, and his wife, Amanda Perry Hayes, 39, are accused of killing Laura Jean. She had two children with Hayes and the pair were involved in a bitter custody dispute.

Crime scene witness Joe Garza said cops took two coolers wrapped in saran wrap, a gun and a saw out of a house. Laura Jean was last seen in Raleigh and reported missing two days later when she didn't show up to pick up her children from her estranged husband. The relationship was
allegedly "volatile."

MADMAN MURDERS 5 IN TEXAS ROLLER RINK MASSACRE

IN A SPLIT second of madness, five people were shot and killed at a Grande Prairie, Texas roller rink Saturday and the gunman then blew his brains out. Cops say the killer calming pulled out a pistol and started shooting during a birthday party. It was a domestic disturbance that spiraled out of control.
Police Chief Steven Dye said: "We are still working on identifying the victims, and we are still working on notifying the families."

HUMBERTO LEAL GARCIA EXECUTED; YELLS 'VIVA MEXICO'

FINAL MEAL WAS TACOS

HUMBERTO Leal Garcia Jr. apologized for his crimes, shouted "Viva Mexico" and then was blasted into eternity with a deadly cocktail that came courtesy of Texas. The Mexican national had been convicted of raping then strangling and bludgeoning to death Adria Sauceda, a 16-year-old San Antonio girl in 1994.
He was executed Thursday night in Huntsville, Texas. His case came to the attention of President Obama because he was allegedly not allowed to contact the Mexican consulate. The Supreme Court denied a stay of execution.
Garcia's last meal was fried chicken, pico de gallo, tacos, two colas and a bowl of fried okra.Before being dispatched, he said: "I am sorry for everything I have done. I have hurt a lot of people. Let this be final and be done. I take the full blame for this."

Leal then shouted "Viva Mexico," followed by "I'm ready warden, let's get the show on the road."

MEXICAN NATIONAL EXECUTED IN TEXAS

TEXAS, ALABAMA EXECUTE KILLERS POWELL, TAYLOR

NO ONE is going to get out the hankies for these guys. Two states ratcheted up ultimate justice yesterday for a pair of ruthless killers. Alabama executed Eddie Duval Powell, left, for the rape, robbery and murder of a woman, aged 70. He apologized for "the pain he caused everyone." An earlier appeal was knocked down. He murdered Mattie Wesson in 1995. He said there should be no execution because he is mentally challenged. Didn't work.
In Texas, Lee Andrew Taylor, 32, right,was put to death for stabbing another inmate to death in 1999. He told his mother and wife he loved them and apologized for the murder of Donta Green. He always maintained he was acting in self-defence. Lest you have doubts... he was doing a life sentence for killing a man during a home invasion.

CHARMING KILLER JORGE LANDEROS TAUNTS U.S. COPS

He was an egotistical charmer – as well as a man of numerous talents. He was a writer, a stocks trader, and even a yoga instructor. Now, he’s wanted for murder.  But don’t expect him to stand trial anytime soon; Jorge Landeros has holed up in Juarez, Mexico on the lam from American justice. And yet it doesn't seemed to faze the maniacal killer. Landeros has emailed El Paso detectives and openly mocked their attempts to bring him to justice.

“Of course you are cordially invited to cross the same bridge, in the opposite direction, and meet me at Sanborn’s, a great cafe and restaurant here in Juarez, and we can talk shop all you want,” Landeros wrote. “It’s best if you come on a Sunday. We can have brunch. It will of course be my treat.
“ Yours, Jorge.”

Landeros is accused of killing American University professor Sue Marcum last fall. Her body was found in the lower level of her home in Bethesda, Maryland on October 25, 2010 and an autopsy showed she died as a result of blunt force trauma and asphyxiation. Friends and family presumed that Marcum’s death was the result of a botched burglary.
But as cops delved deeper into the case they learned more about the mysterious Landeros. They discovered, among many other things that he was on the hook to the IRS for a $3.3 million tax lien against him. Marcum, with her background in accountancy was able to help by referring him to a colleague and he eventually settled that debt for significantly less than the original amount.
Landeros was also the sole beneficiary on Marcum’s life insurance policy – something that he claims to regret. “I’m wishing now that she had modified hers, sadly, she did not change her mind in time.”
Cops, however, aren’t taking Landeros’ antics lying down and currently liaising with Interpol and local authorities in Mexico to extradite him to the United States.

EVIL ISABEL CHAVELO GUTIERREZ DIED DURING RAPE

JUSTICE was served instantly for a twisted rapist who died while while sexually assaulting a 77-year-old woman at knife point.  Isabel Chavelo Gutierrez, 53, broke into his victims Tivoli, TX home, pulled a blade and began to rape his victim.  But justice was swiftly served when midway through his attack, he stopped his intercourse so he could rest. 
Moments later he went back to fondling her briefly before he rolled over and died.  Sgt Gary Wright of the Refugio County Sheriff's Office said they believe the man died from a heart attack after cycling the two miles to his victim's house.
His shaken victim, who survived the attack told cops that she thought he had passed out from booze because she smelled alcohol on his breath, according the the Corpus Christi Caller Times. 
She added that she had seen Gutierrez at a local post office one day before the June 2 attack.

After he lost consciousness, the woman drove away from her house and called her daughter, who then alerted authorities. Gutierrez was dead when they arrived.
He was on parole after serving a sentence for aggravated sexual assault and indecency with a child.
According to the state’s registered sex offender database, the victim was a seven-year-old girl.

COPS MAKE ARREST IN SGT. KENNETH VANN MURDER

 COPS in San Antonio, Texas have nabbed the thug they say murdered one of their own. On Sunday afternoon, Mark Anthony Gonzales, 41, was arrested at his home in connection with the murder of Sgt. Kenneth Vann. On May 28, Vann was murdered in cold blood as he sat at a traffic light. The triggerman came up beside him and blasted away. Vann didn't even have time to draw his weapon.
The 48-year-old veteran's slaying stunned San Antonio as it appeared to be for no good reason
and a whopping $127,000 in reward money was raised.

Cops had been looking for the driver of a 2009 or later model royal blue crew cab Ford F150. Gonzales was at home with his wife and children when he was arrested. Investigators said anonymous tipster closed the deal. A similar weapon used to kill Vann was found in  the home.
Hundreds turned out for the memorial service of the deceased deputy, who had been on the force for 25 years. Vann was buried Friday at the cemetery at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spring Branch.
Vann left behind three children and his wife, Yvonne, who is also a sergeant with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.
Yvonne said last night:  “I know he'll get the death penalty, because that's what it calls for, and he'll get the death penalty as much as my husband did.”

KILLER GAYLORD BRADFORD PUT TO DEATH IN TEXAS

SEVEN BUCKS. That's it. That's all. Killer Gaylord Bradford, 42, was executed in Texas Wednesday for the $7 murder of a grocery store security guard in 1988. In his final statement, he thanked supporters and said: "I am at peace. We have no worries, just as I have no more worries. To the victim's family, may you be at peace also."
Career criminal Bradford was on parole for robbery when he gunned down security guard Brian Williams four days after Christmas at a Dallas supermarket. It was Williams' second day on the job.

According to Fox News, Williams' mother and brother were in the death chamber watching the killer die but found forgiveness in their hearts:
His brother Gary said: "We have no anger towards Mr. Bradford and forgive him of his crime against our family. We now turn our thoughts and prayers to Mr. Bradford's family and friends and pray that God will give them the strength, comfort and understanding as they now grieve the loss of their loved one."
The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear an appeal. Prosecutors and cops were glad Bradford was executed, calling the videotape of Williams' murder "chilling."
Next to die in Texas is John Balentine on June 15 for the fatal shootings of three teenagers in Amarillo in 1998.

STILL NO ANSWERS IN HAILEY DUNN DISAPPEARANCE

IT HAS been five months of heartache for the family of Texas cheerleader Hailey Dunn. The 13-year-old was reported missing December 28, 2010 amid mysterious circumstances and while cops say they haven't thrown in the towel, things don't look great for finding Hailey alive.
Her grandmother Connie Jones said: "It seems like 5 years, it's just dragging on."
Police admit that leads are starting to dry up. Sheriff Patrick Toombs said: "A lot of people say it's a cold case and it's no longer investigated. But that's not
true."
So far, only one person of interest has been named in the disappearance: Hailey's mother's boyfriend, Shawn Adkins. Toombs added: "He's been described as a person of interest. That's what we'd call him as the primary person of interest in this case and that hasn't changed."
Cops found reams of kiddie porn and twisted bestiality material on Adkins' mother's home computer in Big Spring, Texas. So why no bust? Toombs said: "A lot of it has to do with the known people who use the computers and who used it at what time."
But grandma Connie Jones says the frustration from not having answers is devastating her family: "Everybody is hurting. Nobody knows what to say to people."

TEXAS COP KENNETH VANN DIED IN HAIL OF BULLETS

A TEXAS cop was shot and killed in a cold-blooded ambush at a traffic light, according to published reports. Sgt. Kenneth Vann of the Bexar County Sheriff's Dept. was waiting at an intersection early Saturday when a white compact pulled up next to him  and started shooting through the front passenger window. He was found dead in the driver's seat. Chief Deputy Sheriff Manuel Longoria told the Express-News that Vann was responding to a call for an accidental shooting.
Deputy Chief Dale Bennett said: "He did not have a chance to do anything, hit the emergency button on his radio, or even to defend himself. That car pulled up and started blasting, just like that. So where we are right now is that it looks like an ambush."  
Cops say the 48-year-old police veteran died in a hail of bullets, likely from a high-caliber semiautomatic gun. Vann was hit nearly two dozen times.
Now, police in San Antonio have undertaken one of the area's biggest manhunts with more than 170 officers from a wide array of law enforcement agencies in a bid to nab the remorseless killer. So far police are saying little on a possible motive or any info on the killers. A $25,000 reward has been offered for any information leading to a capture.  Vann's wife is also a sergeant in the sheriff's office and he also had two sons and a daughter.COP KILLING IN TEXAS

SEX-AS: TWO MORE TEACHERS BUSTED FOR LUST 101

TWO more Texas teacher have been busted for having sex with their students, making that three in just over a month. 

Cops picked up Angela New, 39, after she allegedly slept with an 18-year-old from her school a month before he was due to graduate. 

And April Alexander, 26, was jailed after being accused of having sex with a 16-year old student on more than 25 occasions. This follows the jailing of randy Brittni "Gang Bang" Colleps, who allegedly staged a sex orgy at her home while her serviceman husband was away on duty.

The mother of three is accused of inviting the boys to her home in Arlington, Texas, where she allowed their sex romps to be filmed on cell phone cameras.

In this latest round of arrests biology teacher Alexander was arrested at her home in Irving, Texas, after police received a tip off that she had been seeing one of her former students.

Cops believe she began a relationship with a former student two years ago.

She resigned from the school last November without giving a reason for her departure, but the teen told officers they'd had sex in her car. 

A day after her arrest, police in Gladewater, Texas, arrested 39-year old Angela New.

She is also accused of having sex with an 18-year old.
