MALCOLM X's murder case will not be reinvestigated Justice Department officials have revealed. 

Civil rights advocates had called for the case to be reopened despite three men being found guilty shortly after his 1965 slaying. 

Nation of Islam members, Talmadge Hayer, Norman 3X Butler and Thomas 15X Johnson were found guilty of charging the stage or Manhattan's Audobon Ballroom and blasting the civil rights icon 16 times with a sawn off shotgun an handguns. 

But as The NY Times reported, new information has emerged, which suggests a fourth man who lives in Newark under a different name, fired the fatal shot.

Despite the compelling new evidence, the Justice Department are refusing to reinvestigate saying that the statute of limitations has expired on any federal laws that might apply, like the National Firearms Act of 1934, according to a statement released Saturday. 

Several experts, including prominent advocate for civil rights era cold cases, Alan Sykes,  had argued that they could take up the case under the Emmett Till Unsolved Civil Rights Crime Act of 2007.
But the department, without elaborating, said the crime did not fit the parameters of that act.
They said in a statement: "Although the Justice Department recognizes that the murder of Malcolm X was a tragedy, both for his family and for the community he served, we have determined that at this time, the matter does not implicate federal interests sufficient to necessitate the use of scarce federal investigative resources into a matter for which there can be no federal criminal prosecution."
Mr. Sykes said he planned to appeal to President Obama, Congress and local law enforcement agencies to pursue the case.

THE CRAZY major who allegedly gunned down 13 soldiers and wounding 30 others in crazy shooting rampage has made his first court appearance.
Army Psychiatrist Major Nidal Malik Hasan is accused opened fire at the Fort Hood, TX base, firing indiscriminately at anyone who got in his way, until he was eventually taken down himself.  
At the brief 15 minute arraignment, Hasan, who will face the death penalty if convicted, surprised onlookers by dropping  his lead attorney, a retired Army colonel, John Galligan, who had represented him since the 2009 attack on the U.S. army post.
He told The Associated Press just before the hearing that he decided to step down temporarily but stood ready to "resume an active role."
Hasan, charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder, said he wanted to be represented by three military attorneys.
He did not enter a plea during the 15-minute arraignment, and it's unclear when he will. According to military law, he cannot plead guilty because it is a death penalty case. Col. Gregory Gross, Fort Hood's chief circuit judge, set the military trial date for March, which the defense team had requested. Jurors will be brought in from Fort Sill, Oklahoma, according to documents filed in the case.

RAPPER Nicki Minaj is heartbroken after her cousin was ruthlessly gunned down after leaving a New York City nightclub.
The Pink Friday star posted a tribute on Twitter along with a picture of aspiring hip hop impresario Nicholas Telemaque who was murdered near his home. She said: "Lived in Brooklyn his whole life. My precious cousin. My baby. Killed last nite."
According to the New York Daily News cops said Telemaque had been partying in Brooklyn's C-PAC nightclub, but was making his way home when he was blasted several times in the chest.

He died later in hospital.
A pal of Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, said she is devastated by the death of her cousin, who she was extremely close to.
They said: "Nicky and Nicholas were the best of friends, so this has hit her hard. She's extremely shocked and very upset and can't imagine why someone would want to kill him.
"Her whole family are devastated."
Minaj hasn't commented since tweeting about her cousin's death.
