VINNIE GORGEOUS' OPTIONS: NEEDLE OR HELL ON EARTH

IN OTHER Italian-American news... forget the haircuts, fine-tailored suits and top-notch meals. For Bonanno crime boss Vincent "Vinnie Gorgeous" Basciano the options aren't great. The New York mobster was convicted of a litany of murder and racketeering charges. So, because they were federal crimes the metrosexual mafioso faces either the death penalty or a loving death: Super Max. Located in Colorado, it is America's most secure--and brutal--prison
Deep within its concrete walls, there is a place reserved for the most notorious inmates in the federal penal system - Cell Block H.
Former U.S. Bureau of Prisons warden Joe Gunja told the New York Daily News: "It's the most secure, most controlled, most confined unit in the prison.
It's designed for the worst of the worst inmates."
Basciano's lawyers will push for the prison instead of the needle for his role in ordering the hit on mob associate Randolph Pizzolo. Sources say it was the arch-criminals hit list--including a judge, a prosecutor and a bushel of mob canaries--that put hiom within sight of the needle. H-Unit's residents are largely terrorists like Ramzi Yousef.
According to the Daily News, Vinnie would be locked down 23 hours a day, shackled and escorted by at least three guards when he leaves the cell. He would have no physical contact with other inmates or visitors and severely limited communications with immediate family.
Great times coming Vinnie.

VINNIE GORGEOUS GUILTY; NOW FACES DEATH PENALTY

METROSEXUAL mobster Vincent 'Vinnie Gorgeous' Basciano has been found guilty of a gangland murder that could land him in the hands of the executioner. The diva-like desperado ordered the killing to smooth his rise to to the top of the Bonanno crime family. Already serving a lifetime jolt for attempted murder, Vinnie G was also convicted of racketeering, conspiracy and a trucklaod of other charges. The former beauty salon owner was torpedoed by for Bonanno boss turned canary Joseph Massino. The well-groomed thug was portrayed the feds as "a cold-blooded remorseless killer."
Basciano orchestrated the killing of mob wannabe Randolph Pizzolo. The murder was payback for a drunken tirade by Pizzolo who demanded to be "made" a member of the crime family.
On tape, Basciano rationalized the murder: "He's a dangerous kid that doesn't ... listen."
Vain Vinnie has become almost as well-known for his diva-like antics as his criminal exploits. Before the trial began he won the right to wear five different suits to trial--one for each day of the week. And he complained and complained about just about everything.
But his days of complaining may be at an end: on Monday the jury begins deliberating on whether Vinnie will get the needle. A bad hair day indeed.
