KILLER |
Gary and Barbara Holloway were found dead in their bed, allegedly killed by their nephew, 15-year-old Christopher Endicott, into their Edmonton, KY home.
They had taken him in because his own mother could not control him.
But when they tried to ban him from seeing 12-year-old Kyra Shockley he killed the couple, riddling Gary, 51 with bullets.
Initial reports suggest the murder of Barbara may have been more
calculated as she died from a single gunshot to the head. Their adult son Stephen found them dead in their bed Tuesday when he went to check on them after failing to reach them by phone.
As well as the car $1,000 had been taken and someone had dropped off the couple's dog at an adult day care center.
Police issued an Amber Alert for both Endicott and Shockley after they went missing in the couples car, but they were soon caught after a volunteer firefighter spotted them in the car.
Family friend Elizabeth Osborn said: "They gave him everything in the world. I guess the first people who showed him love, he didn't know how to take it."
She added that the couple had been trying to keep Endicott away from Shockley, grounding him from seeing or talking to her.
Police questioned and released her, when it became clear she was not involved with the murders.
Her mother Jinger Shive told WBKO: "It really just blows my mind. I knew the trouble that the boy had been into. I knew he was trouble.
"It makes you wonder what kids are capable of now."
In addition to murder, Endicott is charged with fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, reckless driving and driving without a license.
Authorities have not said whether he will be charged as an adult.
