LAPD cops believe Dr Conrad Murray shot the King of Pop full of a powerful hospital grade sedative which likely killed him.
He was Michael Jackson's personal physician when the pop star died on June 25, 2009, from what the coroner ruled was propofol intoxication.
Murray has acknowledged administering propofol, a surgical anesthesia, to Jackson to help him sleep as he was preparing for his "This Is It" comeback tour, which was set to start in London in July 2009.
But he denies the charges of involuntary manslaughter.
At Los Angeles County Courthouse yesterday 159 potential jurors gathered as the selection process began for the 12 who will eventually decide his fate.
Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor introduced the medic to the group who it's estimated, will be required for 45 days if they are eventually chosen.
The process begins with a written questionnaire of 160 questions, which lawyers will pour over to decide which jurors they want to judge the case.
Murray, who remains free on $75,000 bail, entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment in January.
"Your honor, I am an innocent man," he said at the time.
