SPIED ON |
TWO gorgeous foreign students were appalled to discover that the smoke detectors in their apartment were actually hidden cameras. Everything Vanya Amokovareva, 22, and 23-year-old Ralitsa Dzhambazova did in their Tampa apartment was secretly filmed, including the bathroom where it was trained on the shower.
For three months, every move made by the students, who had come over from Bulgaria to work during the summer could be observed. Miss Amokovareva told Bay News 9: "I'm feeling very bad. This is terrible. I never expect that this thing can happen to me or my friend."
She said she covered the camera in the bathroom aimed at the shower with tape.
Her pal added: "The bathroom and your room, this is the private place and you make, in the bathroom you take a shower, you make everything.
"This is, I'm sure that if there is a camera, this is the idea to show us somewhere naked and to show what we make in the bathroom."
The pals discovered the camera's last weekend, then they followed the cables from the hidden camera in their bedroom underneath the carpet to a locked up closet.
They broke the lock off and said they found that all the cameras were feeding into a closed circuit TV box connected to a Wi-Fi router.
Cops are now trying to find the video voyeur and they are trying to work out whether they were recording or being viewed from a remote location.
The Hillsborough County sheriff's report said: "These cameras at first glance appeared to be motion detectors for an alarm system or smoke detectors. Detectives will attempt to determine if the system has been active."
