COPS SAY NEW YORK PRISON ESCAPEES 'DANGEROUS'

COPS  have launched a desperate manhunt for two "dangerous" and possibly armed inmates who escaped from New York's Monroe County Jail.  Eddie R. Palmer, 35, and Joseph Lee Mitchell, 34 - who were cellmates at one time - worked loose one of the bars in their housing area and squeezed their way through to freedom.
Neither had been jailed for violent offenses but Monroe County Sheriff Patrick O'Flynn said the men would be desperate to avoid detection and therefore should be considered "dangerous."
Once recaptured, the men will face additional charges of escaping incarceration - which will add five years to their sentences and therefore they pose a risk to the public.
Palmer was behind bars for possession of stolen property and a probation violation, while Mitchell was in jail on federal drug charges - having played a part in the importation of 5kg of crack-cocaine to Rochester.
Cops fear because of Mitchell's alleged connection with a drugs gang he may have a weapon and his contacts to help hide him and Palmer - both nationally and internationally.
Anyone with information has been asked to call 911.

BASEBALL HOOLIGANS BATTER FAN AT HOME OPENER

IT'S usually European soccer fans who are known for beating the crap out of each other in the stadiums. 
But now America's past time has been marred by violence at the home opener at Dodger's stadium, where a San Francisco Giant's fan was critically injured. 

Sgt. Sanford Rosenberg says two men in Dodgers clothing followed three men in Giants gear as they walked to their car after Thursday night's 2-1 Dodger victory.
Rosenberg says the attackers yelled slurs against the Giants and began kicking and punching the men.
One victim suffered a head injury and was hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
Rosenberg added that the injury is not life-threatening.
Investigators don't have the identities of the suspects and are asking anyone with information on the attack to call police.

ROO-D city officials are trying to take away woman's beloved partially paralyzed kangaroo, which she claims helps her with depression.
Mad marsupial lover, Christie Carr has cared for Irwin - named after crazy crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin, since he was a baby.
At the advice of her therapist, Carr began volunteering at a local animal sanctuary, where she met the animal, to help her cope with depression.
Less than a week later, the kangaroo ran into a fence, fracturing his neck and causing severe brain damage.
But rather than see him put down, Carr took the animal into her Broken Arrow, OKLA home and nursed him back to health, slowing helping him regain his mobility.
Today, although he cannot stand or walk on his own, he can hop three or
four times with assistance she said.
Rarely apart he rides in a car seat, is dressed in a shirt and pants each day.
But officials in Broken Arrow now say the 25-pound great red kangaroo is in violation of a city ordinance banning exotic and wild animals.
"Irwin will not live if I have to give him up," Carr told KOTV.
"I can't imagine a day living without him."
His veterinarian, Dr. Lesleigh Cash Warren, wrote in a letter to the council supporting Carr's request to keep him.
Broken Arrow council last week delayed considering the issue until an April 19 meeting, to give City Attorney Beth Anne Wilkening and other staff time to research the issue.

HERO AMPUTEE DOWNS THIEF WITH HIS FAKE LEG

HE thought it would be easy, just walk into the convenience store, pull out a gun and walk away with the takings. But Eric F Homen hadn't banked on Stephen Cornell, a have-a-go-hero with a prosthetic limb when he set out to rob JC Grill & Pizza in Salem, MA. 
"I just reacted," said the 55-year-old, who lost his leg aged 12.
"I said, 'OK, I'll just wait,' and when he tries to come out of the store, I was going to jump him. He just came out so fast I tripped him, and he tripped me and I fell, and he fell."

"He stumbled and fell, and God, when I was on the ground I was thinking, 'Oh, my God, the next thing you know, he's going to shoot me.'"

Cornell and owner Edson Andrade disarmed the thief and dragged him back into the store in a choke hold before calling police.

It turned out the weapon was a pellet gun.
Homen, 23, pleaded not guilty to charges including armed robbery.

STILL NO BODY OF JET-SKIER KILLED BY MEX PIRATES

THE WOMAN whose hubby was killed by Mexican pirates on the Texas border six months ago is slamming the feds for failing to recover his body. Tiffany Hartley and her husband were jet-skiing near the Mexican border when he was murdered.
David Hartley, whose corpse presumably lies at the bottom of the lake, was shot in the head by Mexican gang members. Citing previous violence on the lake, cops say this crime was the handiwork of a notorious drug cartel. Though investigators are aware of potentially hundreds of similar cases, the recovery efforts for David have no end in
sight.
Tiffany said: “Today marks the six-month anniversary since David was killed. And it’s been six months since they, our government, and the Mexican government have not done enough for David, and for the family and friends, to bring him home and make sure that he’s back.”
With a group of 30 supporters, pretty blonde Hartley recently staged a protest calling on both governments to speed up the process in pinching the drug lords and finding her husband’s body. In response to their growing frustration, the U.S. government has stressed that the case is still open and nobody has given up on the investigation yet.

MRS. ROBINSON WANNABE ROMPED WITH BOY 13: COPS

A LOW-RENT Mrs. Robinson has been charged with stat rape for her sexual hijinks with a 13-year-old boy. According to cops, Megan Donovan, 20, of Staten Island has been charged with statutory rape. The pretty randy ginger has been released with orders not to contact the boy or his family.
The jig was up for the cougar in training--who met the boy through his sister-- had her first romp on Tuesday. Junior stud could not resist bragging to his pals and, whoops, mom found out. Mom called cops and saucy texts confirmed detectives' suspicions. Her mouthpiece
called it all "a fabrication" and that the boy "has a crush" on his client. Described as a "very nice girl" by neighbors, the toy boy loving New Yorker should have known better, the boy's lawyer said.

"This is a woman. She's not a girl," Louis Diamond  told SILive. "Don't forget, there's a big difference between 13 and 21."

BUFFALO MASSACRE GUNMAN McCRAY GUILTY

A BUFFALO man who killed four people and wounded four more in a senseless slaughter outside a restaurant has been found guilty of first-degree murder. Triggerman Riccardo McCray, 24, will spend the rest of his life in prison for the August 14, 2010 City Grill massacre. He continued to profess his innocence, although he did not testify on hiw own behalf.
A Buffalo man has been convicted on charges he opened fire outside a downtown restaurant over the summer, killing four and wounding four
others.

"Obviously, we're very gratified by the jury's verdict," said Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III. "He's a murderer. That's what he is. He shoots people. He killed a lot of people."
McCray was charged with fatally shooting Willie McCaa, 26; Tiffany Wilhite, 32; Danyell Mackin, 30; and Shawntia McNeil, 27. He was also charged with wounding DeMario Vass, 30; James Robbs Jr., 28; and Davis, 30.
